LFJA’s mission is to creatively advocate for policies and practices that support families with incarcerated loved ones in Louisville Metro Department of Corrections (LMDC).  We thank you for helping LFJA  build access for families and friends with incarcerated loved ones to the new voice, video, text, and digital technology offered at LMDC by Smart Communications.  We need to hear from families and friends about how Smart Communications is working for you to stay connected with loved-ones during a period of incarceration. 

LFJA will not share these surveys and we won’t ask you for identifying information.

Your contributions support our advocacy for better policies and practices for families with loved ones incarcerated in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

During the pandemic, LFJA  kept families connected by successfully advocating for free phone calls and video visitation for incarcerated individuals. Free voice and video calling remains available in the new Smart Communications contract in 2024.

A top policy priority for LFJA in 2024 is ensuring better quality physical and mental healthcare for individuals held in LMDC as they seek a new healthcare vendor.
